The news dropped earlier this month that two giants of English-language pop music, Bob Dylan and Smokey Robinson, were planning to incorporate something of a Latin tinge in their upcoming albums.

First the bad news, let’s get that out of the way. Latino youth are at a double disadvantage when it comes to political participation. Latinos are the group with the lowest likelihood of turnout and across groups young folks are less likely to vote. That means that young Latinos are theoretically the least likely group to participate politically.

A new report out today by the Labor Council for Latin America Advancement (LCLAA) has the latest figures on U.S. Latina in the workforce. Here are some of their findings:
U.S. Latina workforce, by the numbers:
-Close to 2.7 million (33.2 percent) are in service occupations
-Over 2.5 million (31.7 percent) are in sales and office occupations
